PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.
Since 2007, the Mescalero Responsible Gaming Program under the leadership of Ms. Shannon Dictson has supported outreaching opportunities to create awareness and assist those who require addiction help to control themselves on tribal gaming properties throughout the state. Funded by a compact regulated by the State of New Mexico Gaming Commission, the Mescalero Apache Tribe chose to take control of its own program and participate with the state in various joint efforts.
Community Outreach
We provide information and prevention messages to the community at the annual Health & Wellness Fair and at school events.
Early Education
Our program distributes calendars and journals to area school students with prevention messages and self-help guidance; the Maze of Life; and a scholarship program to assist college-bound students.
Counselor Training
An annual Treatment Provider training is
conducted by the Evolution Group held at Inn of the Mountain Gods. This training is offered to regional counselors and it is limited to 75 counselors.
Prevention & Awareness
Our programs are designed for students, educators, adults, and counselors and combine key informative statistics with progressive measures introducing self-help settings as well as broader restrictions to help every individual who needs assistance.
Partnership with Others
We administer our services through partnership with the Mescalero Tribe, the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort, and Ski Apache to train, resource, and assist their casino team operators.
